This new store is coming to Grand Central – and will be offering workshops to customers

A new pop-up store is launching at Grand Central – and it will be offering workshops to customers.

Online furniture retailer Swoon Editions is planning to open its debut pop-up shop in the shopping mall near to John Lewis and New Street Station.

Up until now the retailer has focused on sourcing beautifully crafted, affordable furniture and selling it online rather than spending money on lavish stores.

Swoon Editions opening at Grand Central

The new Birmingham city centre pop-up will feature more than 100 of its bestselling and trend-led pieces, enabling customers to try out the luxe velvet sofas, glam drinks trolleys and industrial wooden storage pieces rather than just looking at them online.

It will be at Grand Central, Birmingham, B2 4XJ from March 3 to 18.

Swoon Editions has also partnered with florists and interior designers to offer a series of interactive workshops.

On March 10, there will be interior design consultation workshops with online interior designers Homewings.

And, on March 17, there will be flower arranging workshops with online florist Bloom & Wild.

“Swoon Editions is leading the way in the online furniture market,” said a spokesman for Swoon Editions.

“The team has scoured the globe for the most talented craftspeople and the finest materials to produce their innovative range.

“The pop-up will give customers a chance to browse the collections and meet the team.”

There will also be an exclusive competition giveaway open to all customers.

Everyone who visits the store will be welcome to enter a competition to win a £250 voucher from Swoon Editions, three months worth of flower deliveries from Bloom & Wild and an interior design consultancy package from Homewings.

The store will be open 10am to 8pm Monday to Wednesdays, 10am to 9pm on Thursdays and Fridays and 9am to 9pm on Saturdays and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.

Look out for made-to-order sofas, storage solutions and lighting ranges.

Swoon Editions is one of the 26 companies chosen by Tech City UK in February 2017 for its Future Fifty program, which supports 50 of the UK’s rising tech stars.

There are lots of new developments planned for 2018 in and around Birmingham.

An epic new Primark is coming to the city centre and a giant flagship Next is opening at intu Merry Hill.

Birmingham’s first zero waste supermarket is set to open in Brum and there are some large-scale shopping and leisure complexes planned too.
