This is when a new M&S food hall is opening in Selly Oak

The opening date has been revealed for a new Marks & Spencer shop in Selly Oak.

And new technology means that it will be more than just a Foodhall.

The Selly Oak Shopping Park will also be able to sell the full range of M&S Clothing & Home products.

Customers can opt for next day pick up if they order online by 10pm the night before on M&S.com

The Collect in Store service also promises ‘hassle free returns’.

M&S Foodhall Moseley opened in September, 2017

The M&S team will also provide foodie tips for shoppers by sharing their own M&S favourite products via bespoke badges, in-store signage and conversations with customers.

In addition, through the use of new digital devices called Honeywells, staff will help customers find whatever they need, quickly looking up if products are in stock.

The devices can also be used to help customers load their Sparks offers onto their Sparks card.

When is the new store opening?

Store manager Hannah James will cut the ribbon alongside her 43 colleagues at 10am on Wednesday, October 24.

The move follows on from the opening of another M&S Foodhall in Moseley in September, 2017.

Next, Wilko, Superdrug and JD Sports opened at Selly Oak Shopping Park on September 11 this year followed by Nando’s and Thomas Cook.

Still to come is a 115,000 square foot Sainsbury’s, Mountain Warehouse and Metro Bank.

Next at Selly Oak Shopping Park

Hannah, who has worked for M&S for more than a decade, said: “My team and I are really excited about our new store in Selly Oak.

“We’ll be working hard to provide outstanding service for the community and the new Foodhall will offer all the everyday essentials, as well as seasonal inspiration and innovation.

“Customers will also be able to shop for M&S’s full Clothing & Home collections via M&S.com and using our Collect in Store service.

“Cutting the ribbon and welcoming customers in for the first time will be a great moment for the team and I hope lots of local residents will pop down and join us.”
