New bar for wine connoisseurs is opening in the Jewellery Quarter

Good news wine aficionados – a new wine bar is opening near the city centre.

And considering the owners of this new place are the city’s oldest wine merchants, you can be guaranteed on being served quality plonk.

Arch 13 at Connolly’s will open at Connolly’s’ Wine Merchants in May.

The family-owned business has a rich Brum heritage – shipping wine into Birmingham since 1906.

The space at their Livery street address will be split into two separate areas.

There will be a new ‘intimate’ bar at the front of the building and the shop will be moved to the back.

Abigail Connolly, daughter of Chris Connolly, who has run the business since 1980, will spearhead the launch of Arch 13.

She said: “Arch 13 will offer a relaxed and informal atmosphere to enjoy wine and well-paired food.

“This marks a new chapter in the history of our family business and we’re looking forward to welcoming our customers to our first licensed space.
